CHICAGO, Ill. (AP) — Artemi Panarin scored a goal and two helpers, and Igor Shesterkin stopped 29 shots as the New York Rangers defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 7-1 on Sunday night. The Rangers' Vincent Trocheck, Filip Chytil, and Kappo Kakko each recorded a goal and an assist, while Vitali Kravtsov, Braden Schneider, and Jacob Trouba also scored. Alexis Lafreniere and Mika Zibanejad each got two assists, while Adam Fox had three.
Chicago's Philipp Kurashev scored, and Arvid Soderblom had 19 saves.
The Rangers haven't lost since a 5-2 loss to the Blackhawks at home on December 3. Since then, Chicago has dropped seven straight games and is 1-14-1 since mid-November. Trouba scored his second goal nine minutes later to restore the Rangers' three-goal advantage, and Trocheck added his 11th with 16 seconds left in the period to make it 5-1.
At 8:56 of the third period, Kravtsov's second goal of the season on a breakaway made it 6-1. Caleb Jones of the Chicago Blackhawks went after Kravtsov on the play and wound up tumbling into Soderblom. The goaltender was rattled up but continued to play.
Schneider added his fifth goal with 6:23 remaining.

The Rangers have outscored opponents 33-14 during their winning streak. ... Panarin has 18 points in his last 13 games, while Trocheck had 10 points in his last seven. Chytil has six points in six games since coming back from a lower-body injury. He was checked hard by Sam Lafferty early in the second period and did not return.

TOEWS-KANE MILESTONE
Blackhawks forwards Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane were in the starting lineup to mark their 1,000th game together, the 11th such pair in NHL history to reach the milestone. Chicago is 530-347-123 in those games. If they stay with the team, they could match defensive pair Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith, in the same lineup for 1,069 games early next season. However, Toews and Kane are both in the last year of $10.5 million contracts and it’s possible one or both could ask for a trade to a contending team.

Daniel Weinman was crowned winner of the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event on Monday, taking home a record breaking $12.1 million in winnings. Weinman had to outlast the other 10,043 entrants to take home the prize and get his hands on his share of live poker’s largest ever prize pool – a staggering $93,399,900. As well as taking home the prize money, 35-year-old Weinman also got his hands on the WSOP Main Event bracelet. The huge bracelet contains 500 grams of 10-karat yellow gold, as well as 2,352 various precious gemstones.
Daniel Weinman won the World Series of Poker's main event world championship on Monday in Las Vegas, earning $12.1 million along the way. Playing in the tournament for a 16th year, Weinman was tops in a deep pool of 10,043 players vying for $93.39 million. His victory came after just 164 hands at the final table. "I was honestly on the fence about even coming back and playing this tournament," the 35-year-old Atlanta native told reporters afterward. Weinman's final table featured Jan-Peter Jachtmann, who landed in fourth place and took home $3 million, as well as Toby Lewis, who finished seventh and secured $1.42 million. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the main event's entry pool far outpaced the previous record of 8,773 set in 2006. "I've always kind of felt that poker was kind of going in a dying direction, but to see the numbers at the World Series this year has been incredible," Weinman said. "And to win this main event, it doesn't feel real. I mean, [there's] so much luck in a poker tournament. I thought I played very well." Steven Jones finished second, securing $6.5 million. And Adam Walton settled for third and a $4 million prize.
