Given Andy Reid's second Super Bowl title — and prospect of more — no wonder he's undecided on retirement

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs' 38-35 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII solidified legacies, and Patrick Mahomes wasn't the only one to affirm his reputation as an all-time great with this victory.

Andy Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, became the 14th coach in NFL history to win three Super Bowls, joining a select company of coaches who have shaped the sport over numerous generations.

Reid now has the opportunity to reflect on his place in NFL history while also looking ahead to his future as the Chiefs' head coach after winning his second Super Bowl."When I look in the mirror, I realize I'm becoming old," Reid admitted. "My heart, on the other hand, is youthful. I'm still having fun doing what I'm doing. "I've been asked that 50 times here."

There's a reason Reid was bombarded with inquiries regarding his coaching career immediately after winning another Super Bowl – his retirement would be a huge loss for the Chiefs and the game of football in general. Reid has oversaw a slew of brilliant offenses in the NFL, and his most recent act, assisting Mahomes in reaching such heights, may be his crowning achievement. Still, Reid recognizes that he's received a lot of support along the path to become a potential Hall of Fame coach.

"I'm proud of them all," Reid remarked. "The young players, I mean, we've got all these rookies on the back end of the defense. They improved each week and provided a lot of enthusiasm. [Isiah] Pacheco and his attacking teammates. JuJu [Smith-Schuster], [Marquez Valdes-Scantling], and KT. These were all unfamiliar faces. They simply stepped up, like they have all year."

Reid is eager to laud others around him, but he's been one of the driving elements behind this team's success since they recruited him. Andy Reid has a difficult choice about his future, but for the time being, he has leaped into the pantheon of NFL head coaches. Two Super Bowls under his belt, and who knows how many more are conceivable with No. 15 at the helm. Who could possibly retire from that?

"He's such a wonderful person who brings out the best in his teammates," Mahomes remarked after the game. "It's amazing that we were able to win two Super Bowls for him. As I already stated, we are not finished."
